Shannon Smith
Committee Chair
Shannon is an experienced charter school founder and operator, serving on the boards of ThrivePoint High School and Calibre Academy. As co-founder and executive director of Taylion High Desert Academy, she leads strategic planning, professional development, and community outreach efforts.
With expertise in literacy, special education, and personalized learning, Shannon has developed tailored success plans to help students achieve their goals. She is passionate about creating educational environments where all students can thrive.

Jodie Radford
Vice Chair
Jodie co-authored the charter petition for Palmdale Academy Charter School in 2020, collaborating with the California Department of Education on charter requirements and accountability. As a district-level coordinator, Jodie conducted annual reviews for multiple charter schools in the Antelope Valley and Palmdale districts. With experience as a high school principal, Jodie has extensive knowledge in governance, budgets, curriculum, and school management.

Alan Anderson
Board Member
Alan has over 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience as the President and CEO of a Salt Lake County Chamber of Commerce, where he managed staff, worked with volunteer boards, and oversaw business programs. He regularly collaborated with a 15-member board of directors and lobbied government bodies to promote a business-friendly environment. Alan also serves as the fundraising department head for the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), coordinating global fundraising initiatives for this 501(c)3 educational organization. Additionally, he is a community member of the governing board at Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley, a nonprofit healthcare organization affiliated with the Catholic Church.

Jamie Duncan Plott
Committee Treasurer
Jamie brings a personal perspective to the ThrivePoint Academy Board, inspired by her autistic son's success in a charter school. With 12+ years as Spirit Director at the University of Utah, she has expertise in fundraising, budget management, and leadership. Jamie's background in accounting, teaching, and program management reflects her commitment to inclusivity and student development. Holding a BFA from the University of Utah, she is dedicated to creating innovative, supportive educational environments.

Stephanie Christensen
Board Secretary
Stephanie Christensen brings years of expertise in Utah charter schools, specializing in special education. She has served as a teacher, Special Education Director, and consultant, collaborating with state agencies to support students with disabilities. A former CSPED president, Stephanie has led statewide compliance reviews and worked to improve teacher preparation through CEEDAR partnerships.
